Seriously?

John comments that …

Personally,  I remain unconvinced. Just as you sign up to buy a pair of Bose, Wireless headphones, Amazon points out that actually ‘frequently’ their customers slap down another $399 to buy a pair of Sony Wireless headphones. Seriously?

Graham thinks that …

… if you’re thinking of buying these and the site tells you, “Oh, but people often buy these instead…” and offers you right there the means to do so – how much will that bind you to this channel? What are the brand development people thinking? Stranger still is that if you do choose that other option, it will very likely offer you your original choice as an “alternative.” Oh, recursion… Nice headphones, though. I have some just like that, but cheaper…

John thinks differently …

… but this is a ‘bought together’ message. Alternatives - I get - but am I really going to go and comparison shop and choose a pair of headphones and then I also buy another totally different pair?

Graham closes out with his ace …

Well, clearly, if you need one pair of rather expensive headphones, you must need two, right? More is always better, after all. Will you have another?
