The Other Chap muses …
…that back in the Dark Ages – that time when received wisdom had it that corporate value came from actually having a product, presumably earnings, maybe even backed by assets – yes, many years ago. Chap mooted to then-spouse, with some personal investment experience, the idea of investing in an IPO. Company looked promising, bit of a punt but… Spouse nixed. No earnings record, no physical product, no actual projection for ever actually earning real money. Not a wise investment, waste of money all told. In fact, quite why any informed investor would be interested in this Netscape thingy was a mystery…
And now we are in the age of Snapchat…. projected to go into profit, when? Maybe somebody knows more than the rest of us.
