If you haven’t heard of Jessica Lessin - that’s ok. She founded ‘The Information’ . If you haven’t heard of The Information, that’s also ok . We can’t keep track of everything can we?
That said, I found this an interesting podcast on substack which I think you might enjoy.
During the ’cast she came out with an O’Reilly quote that I hadn’t heard - but liked … I paraphrase:
Venture Capital is the gasoline you thrown on to a working business - not something you use to start the fire.
The opening quote at the beginning of the post emerged as I tried to validate what Jessica said. I couldn’t, but I have no reason not to believe her.
It’s the second quote that I love.
