At the time, there was a lot of reporting (one example) that the Dems had finally sent the ’pubs packing and this was the turning point. Two years later and for six more years, we have had a national stalemate. And I though wouldn’t exactly say that the Republicans are coordinated in their opposition for 2016, they are hardly broken. They fought back. They did not give up. By the way, this was written on 2012 - and makes for a fascinating read with all that is going on around us today.
